Due to eco issues, cities issue and enviromental isues you will not see any new guitars again with Brazilian rosewood fingerboards and/or necks - As such quality guitars that are crafted with Brazilian rosewood necks/fingerboards will become more and more desirable, harder to acquire and certainly more valuable

Further more PRS have reintroduced the Artist Pack option back into the 2012 price list - bottom line is you'll now to spend around £4000 to buy one (subject to final spec and model) and remember this new Artist Pack model will not have a Brazilian roseood fingerboard - Hence £2450 ensures this Singlecut model is well priced

This only accounts for the guitars aesthetic appeal - At this stage we've only had to use our eyes to make a buying decision, so wait until you get your hands on it and can then vouch for the guitars playing performance and tonal qualities - The PRS film star looks, coupled with an impeccable build quality, account for a lot, but it is the playing performance of a PRS that, in my view, makes a PRS so highly desirable - Playing the one piece mahogany PRS neck is not a challenge, a grind or a chore - The playing action is fluid throughout the length of the fingerboard, whilst string bending is effortless across the medium jumbo frets, so much so that a set of 10's feel slinky - The neck is described as the 'wide/fat' profile - Don't let this phrase send the fear of God through you - It actually sits a tad slimmer than most Les Paul necks, so whilst it retains enough girth to enrich the tone and sustain, it ain't fat or chunky - More importantly is how it feels and comfortable is the key word - Re-strung and set-up with a new set of 10's - Hardware, starts at one end with the Kluson style vintage tuners and finishes of at the other end with the solid milled aluminium wrapover bridge/tailpiece - Intonation on a PRS is as good as it gets - Even fancy jazz based chords still sound in tune after the 12 fret

Tone is enhanced by a pair of PRS Number 7 humbuckers - The neck pick-up has enough warmth, soul and emotion to handle all the clean or overdriven classic blues/rock styles, as well as chilled out blues/jazz licks - The bridge pick-up handles the grunt, bite and power required for crunching riffs and scorching lead work with clear yet full lows, smooth highs and tight mids that are full but not mushy - The bridge pick-up might not be quite a full blown party animal humbucker, but it is hot - Both pick-ups have incredible articulation, so even when used with hi-gain overdrive settings, the string separation is excellent, whilst the intricate detail of fast, de-tuned riffs, can still be clearly heard - The modcat code/sticker, that PRS use during assembly, is visible under the bridge humbucker, confirms the nature of the Brazilian rosewood fingerboard, as do the import records with the PRS UK supplier - This is a very desirable instrument, for many reasons
