Just arrived into stock is this desirable PRS McCarty model with the classic McCarty Sunburst finish - The serial number indicates a date of birth as 2004, so as an 8 year old guitar, that has been played, then the condition can de described as more than good - Some of the usual tarnishing on the nickel hardware is evident, whilst any slight lacquer grazes/blemishes are light and only to the top surface of the finish - No fret issues and nothing untoward with regard nasty marks or surprises

Despite the Gibson v PRS Singlecut model court case that took place a few years ago regarding the body shape, the McCarty is in fact a lot closer in performance terms to a Les Paul, than other PRS Guitars, certainly with regard to its dark, fat, warm and sultry tonal character - Compared to the best selling Custom 22/24 models, the slightly thicker one piece mahogany body, the increased headstock break angle, a thinner headstock. plus a set of non-locking vintage 'Kluson' style tuners, are all trade marks of the McCarty model - Many of these features can be found on Gibson's from the late 50's golden era onwards, which Ted McCarty himself would have had a major design influence upon, with his time as the top man at Gibson

Don't worry about any weight issue as this model only just clears 8lbs on our scales - The east coast curly flamed maple top sure looks appetizing in the McCarty sunburst finish and with a pair of nickel covered humbuckers it has a classic vintage vibe about it - Tone is provided by a pair of PRS McCarty humbuckers which are fat, warm and smooth, with incredible sustain, coupled with a touch more clarity than can found on an LP, but that rock/blues based moody tone is all there - Additionally you'll find that when using the McCarty with overdriven amp settings, as you back off on the volume pot, the guitar will clean up nicely, whilst retaining good articulation - This now gives you so much more expression and soulful qualities to your playing as you can control the amp and your tone directly from the guitar - For additional versatility the tone pot has a push/pull option to activate very useable single coil tones, great for some funky rhythm chops - The one piece mahogany neck has the wide/fat profile, which despite the wide/fat tag actually feels a tad slimmer than a regular LP 50's profile - Comfortable to feel and effortless to play it is - Set-up with a set of 10's and a good fluid action throughout the length of the 22 fret rosewood fingerboard - Offered for sale complete with the PRS deluxe hardshell case and tags
