New Low Price - was £2590 - now £2390 - compare the spec and features of this 2010 Custom 24 Limited Edition, to the current 2013 Custom 24 models - Now compare the price tag for a basic 2013 model (around £2490) and as such, this Custom 24 Ltd model priced at £2390, is blessed with a superior set of features, specifications and decorative inlays - Long term, it will always have a better investment potential than a regular spec'd production model

Sometimes you get into stock a used guitar, that is in such fine condition, that any unscrupulous dealer, could pass it off as new - Me, I'd rather be upfront and sell it as a used model, albeit in as new condition - This 2010 PRS Custom 24 Ltd certainly fits in that category - If you search long and hard you may find the merest hint of a blemish - Complete with case and tags - CLEAN !!!!!!! IS THE WORD - Check out the spec, features and limited edition nature of this Custom 24 model and then compare it to the current Custom 24 models - Not much of a contest and yet the price is so similar

Almost from day one, the PRS Guitar company have released a small run of Limited Edition models, to compliment the best selling regular models that can be found on the PRS web site or indeed the dealers wall - To please both the player and collector, Limited Edition models possess the following attributes :- exceptional fine tone woods, ravishing flamed maple tops, exquisite inlays, an unparalleled playing performance, as well as a few 'tweaks' that Paul may will introduce onto production models at a later date - Previous Limited Edition models include Artist 1, Artist 11, Artist 111 and Artist 4 , Signature model, 2003 Brazilian models, 57/08 models, Killer Quilt, Bodega Bay, to name a few

We can now add to this distinguised list the 2010 PRS Custom 24 Ltd, a run of only 200 world wide, with only a small handful finding their way into the UK - Each guitar is signed and numbered, on the rear tone control plate, by Paul himself (note this plate is in the case for safe keeping and a regular plain plate is fitted to the guitar) - As the PRS web site states "this is the guitar for the player who demands modern and vintage features, along with playability at the highest quality level - So aesthetically pleasing is the curly flamed maple top that it must have been a close call for this top not to be utilised on a Private Stock model - Loaded with character and oh so appertizing in that double stained vintage sunburst finish, to deliver a guitar that has all the classic appearance that many of us desire - Underneath that maple top is a selected light weight one piece South American mahogany body, with again South American mahogany selected for the neck - The Indian rosewood fingerboard is inlaid with a set of the 'old style' abalone bird inlays - Note the 'artist pack' style rosewood headstock facia, again with an abalone PRS signature inlay and an engraved CU24 LTD truss rod cover - I'm sure you've already noted the gold plated hardware, including the PRS 14:1 ratio locking tuners along with the PRS modern fulcrum tremelo system, that features a set of solid milled brass saddles and trem block

Sat underneath the gold plated humbucking covers is a pair of PRS 59/09 pick-ups, controlled via a master volume and tone control along with a traditional Strat style switch - Like many Custom 24 models the neck has the regular profile, which means it has a vibe that will make it popular with Fender players, as it possesses a similar top nut width, yet with just a little extra meat on the rear to enhance tone, sustain and stability - More importantly, that easy playing playing action, that in no way inhibits you playing technique, is so instantly apparent when you get round to burning off a few chosen licks - The 5 way switch works, pretty much like the 5 way rotary switch, so you have 3 humbucking voices and 2 of the legendary 'out of phase' Strat-esq voices - Like the 57/08 PRS humbuckers, the wire for the 59/09's comes from the same machine that wired the legendary Gibson humbuckers from the late 50's - A slight tweaking here and there and the result is a very vintage flavoured neck pick-up full of rich, warm and sweet tonal qualities that simply purrrrs and ringsssss as you wind up the amp - The bridge pick-up is voiced to retain those vintage qualities albeit with a touch more bite, transpareny and endless sustain, coupled with musical warmth, that as you add some overdrive on your amp will let you rip into the scorching solos and riffs - Due to the individual character and features that a Limited Edition model possesses, they tend to be good long term investments, certainly compared to a regular production model
