For 2013, PRS have re-released the artist pack option on select models with new Custom 24 Artist Pack models now costing in excess of £3500 - This makes our used, but as new Custom 24 model very well priced at £2275

We originally sold this 2008 PRS Custom 24 Artist Pack model to a very careful and discerning customer, who has played it at home only - As a result, it is still in new showroom condition, complete with case and tags - Here is what we said about it when it first came into stock and since nothing has changed we have listed the spec again - see below.

Product Details: On our 2008 visit to the PRS factory we had the opportunity to hand pick a few guitars that had just completed their final quality control inspection and set-up - One instrument that we choose was this Custom 24 Artist pack finished in black sunburst - From the guitar company that is renowned as the patron saint of flame, this artist pack graded maple top is oh so adorable - Following a recent announcement that the artist pack option on Custom 22 or 24 models is to be discontinued this will probably be our last delivery - The one piece mahogany body and neck, both have a gloss black finish - The neck has the regular profile, whilst the 24 fret Maccassar ebony fingerboard is delightfully embellished with the new style paua bird inlays - Again paua is the chose material for the PRS signature logo/inlay on the Maccassar ebony headstock facia - Fitted with gold hardware including a set of PRS 14:1 low mass locking tuners, along with the PRS patented modern fulcrum tremolo system, complete with 6 individual machined brass bridge saddles, and a separate solid brass tremolo block - A pair of PRS humbuckers sit at the heart of the tone department with a Vintage Bass in the neck position and a HFS (Hot! Fat! and Screams!) in the bridge position, controlled via the 5 way toggle switch - More details on the playing and tonal performance are listed below - In 2008, the list price wass £3,554 including a deluxe leather bound PRS case

Custom 24 Performance Characteristics: Great pride is taken into the build quality of any PRS guitar, to deliver the ultimate playing experience - It's all about the finest materials, well set-up instruments with good playability and awesome tones - This Custom 24 is fitted with the regular neck profile to allow a fast and fluid, easy playing action throughout the length of the fingerboard, coupled with effortless string bending, thanks to the 24 impeccably fitted, profiled and polished medium jumbo frets - The regular neck profile sits somewhat slimmer than that found on a Les Paul, yet a tad fuller than most Strats - Some guitar necks can be a challenge to play, whilst on a PRS you'll find that the more intricate passages of play from your favourite licks simply flow from your fingertips - If you are into using a tremolo system, the PRS package has great tuning stability for all but the most excessive of playing styles - The trem arm itself has a nice and positive, smooth feel about it and allows for both up or down movement

In conjunction with the right amp, the Custom 24 has the ability to provide both the warm and rich clean tones required for jazz/blues/fusion playing styles as well as clean funky/disco rhythm styles, through to clean rock and country styles from the bridge pick-up - Yet click on to subtle overdriven amp settings for classic rock tones, or dial in some hi-gain filth from your amp for the tones adored by modern contemporary guitarist - Due to the taper of both the volume and tone pots on a PRS Custom 24, you'll find out that these controls do actually work all the way from 10 through to 1, allowing you to control the volume, gain or tonal expression that you may require from your amp, direct from the guitar - As you back off on the volume pot, you'll notice that the tone does not go mushy and retains good articulation, whilst on more subtle overdriven settings, this will allow the amp to clean up quite nicely - The main strength of the guitar is undoubtedly to provide 3 humbucking voices via the 5 way selector switch, but increased tonal flexibility is possible with 2 excellent and very useable 'out of phase' single coil tones, very reminiscent to those found on a good Strat, making them ideal for your favourite funky rhythm chops

Sure you can own 2, 3, 4 or more different guitars, each capable of doing a specific job, yet the Custom 24 as one instrument alone, maybe all that you require - It is not meant to be a 'tone clone' of either a Les Paul or a Strat, rather just a great playing instrument with good tonal options and just as original in its own right - Some companies spend all there time promoting and delivering vintage copies of guitar they made 20, 30 years ago, PRS just move the boundaries, delivering a new classic guitar.
