An exceptionally clean used Gretsch G6128 Duo Jet arrives into stock and sits proudly amongst our growing selection of used guitars - It is offered for sale complete with the Gretsch hard shell shaped case, tags, certificate and manuals/booklets - I mentioned earlier that the condition is exceptionally clean, so you will need to be both eagled eyed and very fussy to spot and have any issues with the slightest graze or polishing swirl marks that can be found on the shinny black finish - Re-strung and set-up with a set of 10-52's and a fluid playing action - I almost put on a set of flat wound strings, to replicate the authentic Cliff Gallup 50's rock 'n' roll tone, and as such, favoured by Jeff Beck

Although the G6128 is a popular model amongst early rock 'n' rollers, it is also favoured by the Indie Brit Pop brigade and of course country based players, hence the 10-52's will be more suitable to the majority of players, but hey, we can fine tune the set-up to suit any potential buyers requirements - Even a few rockers might like it as per AC/DC and Malcolm Young - The serial number and certificate dates the guitar as a 2005 model

The G6128 is an authentic replica, so you get the semi solid mahogany body, along with an arched maple top, whilst a 22 fret ebony fingerboard sits on a mahogany neck - Note the binding on the headstock and fingerboard, as well as the body - Gretsch guitars have many quirky features that certainly gives the guitar a unique vibe, including the neo classic 'thumb nail inlays, the Gretsch logo on the pickguard, the roller bridge sitting on an ebony base, the knurled strap buttons, the G-logo on the control knobs and of course the Filter Tron pick-ups - Even the switch and control layout is different to the path chosen by other guitar makers - Hence you have 2 individual volume controls and a master volume control (near the top cutaway), whilst near the neck pick-up you have two 3 way switches - One to select the pick-ups, in the normal manner and the other to provide you with 3 different tonal voices - The build quality of the current breed of Gretsch Guitars, ensures a fluid playing action, hence you still have the old school styling, coupled with a more modern playing performance
