Left handed quality guitars are a very rare commodity, no matter what the name is on the headstock, so a left handed Tom Anderson is an exceptionally rare find - We sold this Anderson Cobra as a brand new instrument around 2 years ago - The guitar was fully spec'd to the customer requirements and now to finance another custom spec'd left handed Anderson the Cobra is now offered for sale - It is exceptionally clean so a very detailed seach is required to find any hint whatsoever of playing wear - The price includes the deluxe Anderson case and certificate which lists the full spec/details - A similar spec'd new model would now sell for around £3300 with around a 6 month waiting list, so save a grand and buy it now and play tonight

Cobra overview - Normally when I write a review and pass comments on any guitar that I offer for sale, each review follows a test drive of the guitar, but how do I offer thoughts and opinions of a guitar that I can't play - However I have played and sold a number of right hand Cobra models over the years so will use this knowledge to impart - The Cobra follows the tried and tested Anderson route of building to perfection a guitar that is heavily influenced by the classic Strat and Tele models that we have sold, played and enjoued for many years - However as against the regular 25.5" scale length, maple neck and an ash or alder body, the Cobra is designed with a Gibson-esq 24.75" scale length, a mahogany neck with a mahogany body, that is topped of with a very impressive flamed maple top - The result is a guitar that has more depth and warm, more sustain, more mid range muscle, yet still retains the clarity and definition that you'd associate with a Fender - The shorter scale length gives the guitar a 'softer' feel and 'softer' is maybe the key word to describe the Cobra tone compared to a Strat - It still retains a lively natural quality to it with good dynamics and attack, but with a smoother and softer texture to it - Overall it is a delightful package that works well and should give any 'Southpaw' years of unadulterated pleasure

Further details/spec are as follows:-
Mahogany body
Flamed maple top with a trans yellow finish that shows the 'natural edged binding'
Mahogany neck with a rosewood fingerboard
22 jumbo/heavy frets
1 5/8" nut width and a 'happy medium' neck profile - In short this mean it feels very much like a nice 60's based Strat, albeit with a far more fluid playing action
Chrome hardware
Non-trem bridge assembly with 6 fully adjustable bridge saddles

Tonal issues - Fitted with a pair of Tom Anderson HC1 and HC2 humbuckers that are controlled via a 5 way switch - Hence you have the 3 regular humbucker voices plus 2 excellent coil tap options - The HC1 is defined by Anderson as delivery a succulent sweet and clear neck tone, that sounds full rich and clear without sounding 'bloated' - The HC2 in the bridge position is designed to compliment the voice of the HC1 - It delivers a medium to hot output yet still retains enough of the vintage flavour to deliver a full bouquet of tonality - fat mids for a throaty bite, with lush soft highs that shimmer - Try it on clean amp settings as it has enough soul and emotion to work for chileld out blues styles with a hint of jazz, but add some overdrive on your amp to listen to it sing and wailllllllllll
