Special Offer on this new PRS Tremonti - was £2689 - Now £2199
A recent arrival into stock and hand picked by me is this PRS Tremonti '10' Top with a V12 faded blue burst finish - It may not be the only example in the world of a Tremonti in this finish, but it is certainly the first to arrive in the UK and world wide I'm pretty sure only a few exist - The large majority of Tremonti models that we have sold over the years, tend to be finished in gray black or charcoal burst, as per Mark's own guitars, but the chance to acquire such an exhilarating example with a highly figured maple top was to good an opportunity to miss - Note the 'wrap over' finish on the side of the body, hence no 'natural' edged binding - It certainly makes it less of a 'type cast' signature model
In 2011 PRS made a few tweaks and changes to some of the best selling models - First change concerns the new V12 finish, a feature now found on all PRS Guitars after 2011 - The finish should enhance the look, tone and feel of the guitar, yet at the same time it should not hinder the natural resonance that the guitar possesses - With this in mind, PRS have spent over 10 years with a major paint company to develope a finish that blends the vintage properties of nitro, with the modern acrylic based finishes - The goal is to achieve an ultra thin finish, that is hard and clear and will not crack/react with thinners, yet at the same time retain that 'glass' like finish that PRS are renowned for
The wide/thin neck profile has now 'morphed' into the pattern/thin profile - Still the same physical dimensions, so any change is subtle to say the least, but with modern tooling and programming to the CNC machines that cut the neck blanks, it allows PRS to preciously shape and consistently reproduce the correct profile time after time - Otherwise everything else about the Tremonti is retained as it was : - 25" scale length - 22 fret rosewood fingerboard - medium jumbo frets that are polished, profiled and installed to perfection - fast fluid playing action, so much so that a set of 10's feel nice and slinky - PRS 14:1 ratio locking tuners - PRS modern fulcrum trem, that incorporate milled brass bridge saddles and trem block - all hardware is nickel plated - Mahogany body and neck - Flamed maple 10 top with an amber black finish - Tremonti neck and bridge pick-ups - The trem has a smooth and positive feel about and unless you abuse the hell out of it, it will stay in tune
Yes the Tremonti Signature model will suit the playing styles of Creed and other similar modern rock styles, but to many players, they will be surprised as to how warm and loaded with soul and emotion the neck pick-up is - This ensure that the Tremonti guitar works as a good all round rock guitar to cover so many styles with plenty of dynamics and articulation - The crunch and power required for riffs and chord rock on overdrive amp settings is all there, as is the ability to deliver scorching rock solos, with plenty of aggression whilst it retains musical warmth - Control the amp's overdrive for more blues/rock based music, or turn off the amp's overdrive and play it clean and the Tremonti does not disappoint, in any way, shape or form - Some signature models are very much stereotyped and offer very little tonal option outside their recognized job - That is not the case of the Tremonti - For fans of Mark, it is a must have guitar, yet if you have a passion for quality, tone and performance then the Tremonti is also a must have guitar
