PRS Mira vintage cherry - 2008
#3969 - £825

Looking through my stock records I was surprised to see how few used PRS Mira Guitars we have taken into stock - So on that basis I am more than happy to be able to present to you a used 2008 Mira with a classic translucent vintage cherry finish
Condition wise, playing wear is on the light side, so a couple of minor blemishes to the top surface of the lacquer, plus the usual pick marks on the scratchplate, but certainly nothing untoward - Same applies to the nickel hardware in that there is a hint of tarnish, but only what you'd expect on a 4 year old guitar - Re-strung and set-up with a set of 10's and of course that fluid playing action that PRS have nailed down to a fine art - Priced to sell at £825 including tags, the deluxe PRS case
The blue print for the Mira (pronounced My-ra not mirror) was to deliver the legendary PRS impeccable build quality, tonal variation, plus of course that fluid playing performance, all in a no frills cosmetic package - I dare say that both PRS and Gibson would not thank me for pointing this out, but essentially the influence for the Mira has come from the Gibson SG Standard, so that should at least give you a vibe about the tonal qualities that it can deliver - The one piece contoured mahogany body plus a one piece mahogany neck is finished in a lush translucent vintage cherry, with the whole guitar coming in at a touch under 7lbs - So light and resonant - 24 medium jumbo frets are impeccably fitted and polished on to a rosewood fingerboard, in this case with no additional frills, just dot inlays - The neck has the standard profile, as found on many Custom 24 or Standard 24 models - Hence a comfortable amount of depth to add tone, sustain and stability, with a top nut width that you'd find on a Strat/Tele - A few minutes of playing the Mira will ensure that you are playing a guitar with an extremely comfortable feel about it - Great for bashing out some chords and riffs, simple melodic phrases, or if you are so inclined, to churn out some flashy licks - It might have a simplistic vibe and manner to it, but this guitar will not let you down - The hardware includes the PRS wrapover bridge/tailpiece, ideal for those into open or drop tunings, plus a set of PRS 14:1 ratio locking tuners
Fitted with a pair of PRS newly voiced and wound Mira humbuckers with open coils, with all the controls mounted on a scratchplate - Here you simply have a master volume and tone pot, 3 way selector switch with the addition of a mini toggle switch to give you some excellent coil tap options - Like an SG, the tone is tight and focussed, with fat warm tones from the neck pick-up and harder driving tones that cut from the bridge pick-up - The coil tap settings are very useful and not the thin weedy tones that you find on many humbucker based guitars when on the 'tapped' setting - Almost Tele like at times, so one little switch can supply you with so much extra tonal variation - In PRS terms it may well be a Plain Jane to look at, but it ain't plain when it comes to the playing experience
