More Details are as follows :- During 2011 PRS made a few tweaks and changes to the best selling Custom 24 , to ensure that this is now the finest Custom 24 ever - First change is the ultra thin, yet tough, V12 finish which blends the vintage nitro based lacquers with the modern acrylic paints - The finish should not inhibit the guitars natural resonance, allowing it to 'breathe' yet at the same enrich the guitars beauty with that glass like shine - 12 years in developement, hence V12 and from 2011 it is now available on all Custom 24 models

Next up is a slight tweak to the neck profile, now tagged as 'pattern regular" - In short, this neck profile will be poplular amongst players who are more accustomed to the feel of a Strat neck, with it having a 1 5/8" nut width, yet it retains enough depth to both enhance the tone and feel comfortable from the moment you first play it - A fast and fluid action from top to bottom, awaits any test drive, whilst 24 medium/jumbo frets ensures easy string bending, so much so that a set of 10's feel very slinky - Add to this a 10" fingerboard radius and you'll see why the playing performance of a PRS guitar is so slick, and as such will enhance the technique of any player

The PRS tremelo feels smooth and positive and in conjunction with the top nut and locking tuners, will ensure trouble free tuning stability for all styles, unless you are into serious dive bombing - The trem block and saddles both incorporate milled brass saddles to enrich the tone and sustain, so no monkey metal here - Again, the top nut and quality of fret work ensures excellent intonation, so much so that even complex chords, above the 12th fret, still ring true and in tune and allow each note of the chord to be clearly heard

Now onto the final upgrade, regarding the pick-ups and switching arrangement - From 2011, Custom 24's now feature a pair of PRS 59/09 uncovered pick-ups, to ensure a versatile tonal package , that is loaded with soul and emotion, coupled with excellent dynamics and articulation - From warm and vintage based tones from the neck pick-up, or crunch rhythm and power chord/riffs, to scorching lead breaks, the Custom 24 is at home - The volume and tone controls work so well over the whole 1-10 range to further enhance the soul and emotion that is available to you - On crunch/overdriven amp settings, the volume control will allow you to back off from 10 and obtain a cleaner voice, or indeed, if you wish to obtain a softer, dark voice, then roll off the tone pot until you hit that sweet spot - You can make a clear and crisp guitar tone, sound more dark, as is the case with a PRS, but you can't make a dull sounding guitar sound bright, so this is why the tonal package of a PRS works so well - The neck pick-up sounds warm, fat and full bodied on clean or overdriven amp settings - The bridge pick-up has enough warmth and body to work well on clean/blues based settings, but as you add some amp/pedal overdrive, from bone crunching riffs and chord work, to scorching lead breaks, a Custom 24 has few equals - Again, on an overdriven bridge pick-up setting, don't forget the extra emotion and control that is available to you on the volume and tone pots to 'soften up' the tone - 3 humbucking voices are found on position 1,3 and 5 on the easy to use 'Strat style' blade switch, whilst position 2 and 4 offer two excellent single coil flavoured tones that work well for those "Knopfler' style licks or indeed funky chord passages - Yes the best selling Custom 24 has now just moved up another notch in all areas
