Nathan Sheppard Custom NSG25 + Brazilian Rosewood - new low price
#4058 - £1,199

was £1599 - Now available at a new low price - £1199
Would you look at this hand built Nathan Sheppard NSG25 guitar, as a work of art or an exceptionally fine guitar ? Or perhaps both ? - A recent acquisition at Guitars4You and since its arrival into stock I have asked myself this question on a number of occasions - You have to marvel at the quality of workmanship from this small British luthier, along with a no expenses spared choice of some very desirable ingredients, to deliver a guitar with a playing performance that is more than just a match for the 'movie star' glamour that this guitar posseses - When you look closely at the workmanship, choice of materials, listen and play the guitar, the only question left to answer is why is it only £1599, albeit this is our price for a used model - A new spec'd version would be around £2699 - Yet a similar spec'd instrument from the more established brand names would require you spending in excess of double, treble and even quadruple our £1599 price tag - So a very interesting point as to how much we are seriously influenced by the brand name and which of are guitar playing heros are associated with that brand
So let me enlighten you with some further information regarding our used Nathan Sheppard NSG25 - Remove the wooden control cover plate and there you'll discover the date, 2006, along with Nathan's signature - Condition wise we are talking about a guitar that is in remarkable condition - You'll have to look very closely to discover any blemish to the satin finish - Re-strung and set-up with a new set of 10's and no fret issues to mention - With regard to ingredients, as I mentioned earlier, the NSG25 is blessed in that department - Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard with a snake wood binding Brazilian Rosewood neck Brazilian rosewood headstock facia Earvana intonation nut and carbon fibre re-enforced truss rod are both nathan designs One piece mahogany body Sublime quilted maple top with a satin 'tiger' finish and the 'natural edged' maple binding black Gotoh hardware Bare Knucke pick-ups Fixed bridge with rear Tele style string loading 3 way selector switch Two volume + master tone pot - Push/pull coil tap on 'upper' volume pot that works on both pick-ups
The comfortable C neck profile will feel very familiar to Gibson and PRS players - Enough depth to aid tone, sustain and stability, yet comfortable enough to allow a fluid playing performance - Again the 43mm top nut width puts it very much in the Gibson/PRS home territory - The cutaway and body/neck heel allows easy access to the top end of the fingerboard - As I mentioned earlier, it is easy to view such guitars as a work of art - Yet this does not do the guitar justice - The guitar was built and designed to be played and from that point of view it is a mighty fine instrument - The Guitars4You price includes the original Nathan Sheppard Hiscox case
