James Trussart Guitars are truly unique and very distinctive - Guitars4You love all the mojo and vibe that a James Trussart Guitar possesses and first started selling them around 8 years ago - Trussart's creations are handbuilt in a small workshop in LA and combine the vintage feel of the sought after models from the 50's and 60's, along with custom built hollow metal bodies which are a work of art in their own right - As a small workshop, they can not afford to give away their guitars to our wealthy guitar heros, so when your list of customers includes Rich Robinson (Black Crowes), Tom Morello, Joe Perry, Billy Gibbons, Rick Nielsen, Eric Clapton, Graham Coxon (Blur), Sonny Landreth, Robert Cray, Gatemouth Brown, to name a few, with James Hetfield recently buying 4 Trussarts, then you must be doing something right

Spec/Features - Pick up a Trussart, play it for a few minutes and revel in the luxurious feel of neck that possesses a profile that can be found on many of Fender's finest Strats and Teles from the early/mid 50's period - As such it is instantly home turf for many players - It has a comfortable amount of depth to it, to enrich the tone, sustain and stability, but no way can it be deemed as chunky - It feels very comfortable and is set-up with a nice fluid playing action - The bolt on maple neck has a modern style 9" radius, along with a maple fingerboard that is fitted with a set of Dunlop 6105 frets, allowing for a well balanced fluid action, plus effortless string bending, without the choking that can be asscociated with the 7.5" radius found on many vintage guitars - You still get the traditional Fender based 25.5" scale length - The neck/fingerboard has an 'aged' stained satin finish to supply you with that played in feel from day one - All the hardware is lightly aged to reflect the 'aged' mojo of the two tone green finish, so that includes a set of Tone Pro tuners, with 'Kluson' style string post to slot in the end of the string in the traditional Fender manner - Then note the Tele style bridge with 3 pairs of compensated brass saddles, hence improved intonation - The pickups are a pair of hand wound Arcane vintage models with a humbucker in the neck position and a traditional single coil style built into the bridge assembly, with both pick-ups then controlled via the regular 3 way switch, volume and tone pot - A push/pull switch within the tone pot allows the neck pick-up to deliver a coil tap option as well as the fat humbucking tone

The Trussart finish
- The hollow metal body on the Steelcaster features an aged two tone green finish, whilst all the hardware, switch tips, control knobs, scratchplate and headstock facia plate are aged and coloured accordingly, to compliment the body - The 'gator' scratchplate, control plate and headstock facia are all unique features on many Trussart Guitar - The body is custom ordered with a 'holey' front and back, so those perforations certainly help in the weight department, so early 8lbs in this case

Now to the tone - Despite what you initial expectations maybe, the tone is not hard, brittle or sharp and subject to your amp set-up the Steelcaster can gravitate from sweet, crystal clear tones to aggressive screaming lead tones - On clean settings the neck pick-up is warm enough with plenty of depth to even satisfy any cool jazz or chilled out blues tendancies that you may possess, with a delightful hollow woody vibe about it, coupled with excellent clear harmonics and articulation - On clean settings the bridge pick-up has a vintage full bodied twang about it, with a musically warm bite that is certainly not brash and should put a smile on the face of even the most ardent of 'vintage is best' supporters - On crunch or hi-gain settings the same applies with lush, fat, smooth tones from the neck pick-up and those infamous crunchy Tele tones from the bridge pick-up, that work well on both chords or single notes - No matter how you set-up your amp, you'll note that the Steelcaster possesses excellent articulation, very dynamic with a fast responsive attack - Despite the hollow body nature of a Trussart, there are no feedback issues to worry about, even when cranked up on hi-gain amp settings

Included with the price is a quality oblong hard shell case
